You will never be charged for the same energy twice. If you switch halfway through a billing month, your old energy supplier will refund the overpayment after the final bill has been calculated.
Final bills usually take 6 weeks to be generated after the completion of the switch. If it takes longer, check out this helpful article on whether you could be owed compensation.
To ensure final charges are accurate, simply submit opening meter readings to the new supplier closer to the switch completion date by using the Switch dashboard ('Meter readings' function from the sidebar on the left). Our system will automatically send a notification to your new energy supplier who will share the readings with your old supplier.
