What is the Switchd Direct Debit for?
We are powered by our members, not by energy providers. We charge a small subscription fee which allow us to switch you to the whole market, rather than just deals that pay us a commission. This allows us to switch customers to the deals that are truly the cheapest and save an average £109 more than our free competitors!
Free services, like comparison websites, can only switch you to deals where the energy provider pays them a commission for every new customer. Usually the cheapest deals don’t offer commission to these free services- instead, they pass the savings on directly to the customer. And our customers have access to these deals!
You haven't Switchd me yet- why have you set up a Direct Debit?
When you register for our service, we will set up a Direct Debit mandate to verify the account. Remember-we will not charge a penny we first switch you.
To complete your supplier switch, a Direct Debit mandate is necessary on all plans, including our Free plan. This allows us to process the switch without any delays.
If you have a voucher code, you will receive an email notification with the date of when the first payment is due.
How often will I get charged?
We charge our fees in 6-month blocks in advance by Direct Debit. For example, if you are on our Lite Plan (which is £2.69 a month), you joined us in January and we first switch you in January, you will be charged £16.14 in January. And then 6 months later in July another payment of £16.14 will be taken.
You will receive an email notification at least 3 working days before any payments are due!
