Can I cancel a switch?
All switches can be cancelled within the 14-day cooling-off period, and your energy supply will not be affected. You will receive a notification about all new switches on your account, and the 14-day period starts from when the switch is initiated.
Once the 14-day window has closed, you can no longer cancel with your new supplier. Instead, your old supplier will need to reclaim the supply from your new supplier.
What do I need to do to cancel a switch?
When we initiated your switch, you should have received an email from us containing details about your new tariff. If you wish to cancel the switch, please scroll down in that email until you see the option to 'cancel switch.' This request will be forwarded to your energy supplier, so there is no need to contact them directly.
If you're unable to find the email, please reach out to us at team@switchd.co.uk as soon as possible. This will allow us enough time to inform your supplier of the cancellation.
Do I need to do anything else?
Yes! Please let us know why you have decided to cancel the switch. This is important because we are an automated switching service, and if the account is not updated, our system will automatically start a new switch. If you let us know the reason for the cancellation, we can discuss the situation and advise accordingly.
How can I avoid being switched to tariffs I don't want?
It is important to us that our customers are happy with the tariffs we find. The easiest way to let us know your preferences is to go to the Switchd dashboard and select 'Switchd settings' from the left sidebar.
On the same page, you can exclude certain suppliers from your tariff comparison orset a minimum saving requirement.
