The last thing you want when switching to a new supplier is to continue to make payments to the old supplier. Rest assured, this will be taken care of as part of the switching process!
The new supplier will let your old supplier know about the switch. The old supplier will then automatically close the account after the completion of the switch.
This is because whilst we make the transfer effortless for the customer, energy suppliers will communicate in the background about your energy usage figures, work to produce a final bill, cancel the Direct Debit, and close the account.
