Know your rights
If your switch is delayed, you could be owed money from your supplier. At Switchd we do all that we can to ensure your switch goes smoothly, but if things do go wrong we are on hand to help you claim from your supplier.
If you fall under any of the following categories, you could be eligible for compensation from suppliers according to new Ofgem* ruling and guaranteed standards:
- A final bill is not issued within 6 weeks [within 6 weeks of what? final bill from whom?]
- Your credit balance is not refunded within 10 days of a final bill being issued [if you have one]
- Incorrect switches without your permission (called an erroneous transfer)
- A switch taking longer than [* 21 days] without reason
How do I get my compensation?
Compensation should be automatically applied, however if it has not you should notify us or your supplier. Further compensation is applicable if it isn't paid on time. [given our experience with TE, I would suggest that the customer get in contact directly with the supplier as being the fastest and most effective route. If they do this using the Contact Supplier button then we should also be able to chase once initiated]
To contact your supplier, you can message either your old or new supplier via your dashboard.
