The switch usually takes around 17 -30 days to complete.
You'll always have a 14-day "cooling off period", where you can change your mind for any reason. A few days before your switch completes the new supplier will send you a request for opening meter readings.
If you have gas and electricity at your property, your supplies may be switched separately so you might be asked to submit meter readings for each on different days, and your supplies might "go live" with the new supplier on different days too — this is normal. Usually, it's electricity first and gas second.
The switch largely depends on the supplier's internal processes and can take a little longer than expected. Don't worry if your switch isn't completed in exactly 30 days, we'll always keep you updated.
Expected Switch Schedule:
Switch Start: Your switch will usually complete in around 17 - 30 days from start date.
14 Days Later: cooling-off period ends. Your switch is processed and a direct debit is set-up.
Up to 16 Days Later: Switch Complete. You'll receive a link to setup your supplier online account and opening payment is taken. Send new supplier opening meter readings.
21 - 30 Days Later: Final bill from previous supplier is issued and old supplier direct debit is cancelled once final bill is settled or account credit balances are refunded.
